Mike Hess: As a founder of Brooke Corporation, Mike has been with the Brooke Corporation since 1987. He has served as a director of Brooke Corporation and as a member of the Brooke executive committee.
His past positions with Brooke include President of Brooke Corporation from 1996 to 2000, and Vice President and sales officer of Brooke Corporation from 1989 to 1996. He has also served as the President of CJD & Associates, LLC (Davidson-Babcock) in Overland Park. Mike previously held positions as director of Patrons Insurance Company and Great Plains Mutual Insurance Companies. Currently Mike is a President of Brooke Capital Advisors, and Vice Chairman of Brooke Capital Corporation.
Kelly Drouillard, CPA, CPCU: A graduate of Kansas State University, Kelly is a CPCU and CPA with a career focused on the property and casualty insurance industry. Her experience encompasses both finance and operations. Kelly’s career began in 1987 with KPMG. She joined GE ERC (Employers Reinsurance) in 1990. Kelly then enjoyed 11 years at Dodson Group with various roles including Senior Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Finance. After 18 months of consulting, she returned to GE ERC before joining Brooke Corporation in January of 2005. Kelly is Chief Operating Officer of Brooke Capital Advisors.
Jim Jones, CPCU: Jim joined Brooke Capital in April, 2006 and leads the Collateral Preservation team. He began his insurance career in 1971 with Atlas Mutual Insurance Company. He served with the Dodson Insurance Group as Chief Operations Officer in 1985 and was eventually promoted to President and Chief Operations Officer. Jim has a BS degree in Accounting from the University of Missouri – Columbia and is also a CPCU.
Tim Hyder CPA, CPCU: Tim Hyder leads the marketing function in generating new loans. A graduate of the University of Missouri in Columbia and a postgraduate of the University of Central Missouri with an MBA in finance, Tim is also a CPA and CPCU with over 25 years dedicated to the property casualty industry. Mr. Hyder’s experience has been in financial leadership and operations. Tim joined Brooke in February 2007 after 20 years of employment at GE/ERC in various financial leadership roles.
Nancy Blain: joined Brooke Capital Advisors December 2007 after fourteen years with Transamerica Occidental Life Insurance Company as the Financial Controls Department Manager. Prior to that she worked for several property casualty companies including Pennsylvania National, Hartford, American Continental and Commonwealth General in the accounting area with functions including agent’s commissions, audit review and assisting with preparation of the Annual Statement and State Premium Tax filings. Her current position with BCA is to provide assistance with collateral preservation. Nancy attended Kansas City Kansas Community College.
Abby Rice: Abby is a 2007 graduate of the University of Kansas with a BS degree in Finance. Abby provides analytical and credit analysis for new business submissions.
Sara Stimac: A graduate of University of Northern Iowa with a BA in Psychology. Sara has over 10 years of administrative and operational experience.
